The Sikh Gurdwaras Committees Election (Validation) Act, 1954
1. Short title and extent
(1) This Act may be called the Sikh Gurdwaras Committees Election (Validation) Act, 1954. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Punjab.
2. Validation of certain elections to the Sikh Gurdwaras Committees
Notwithstanding any judgment, decree or order of any court, the elections of members of the Committees appointed under the provisions of the Punjab Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 (Punjab Act VIII of 1925) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), held before the commencement of this Act, shall not be deemed to be invalid, or ever to have been invalid, merely by reason of any defect in the procedure followed in connection with such elections.
3. Validation of elections notwithstanding procedural defects
No election of a member of the Committee shall be called in question in any court merely on the ground of any defect in the procedure followed in connection with the election.
