BEit enacted by Parliament in the Sixtieth Year ofthe Republic oflndia as follows:CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY

1. (1) This Act may be called the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.

Shon title, c:-.tent and commencement

1. (2) It extends to the whole ofIndia. (J) Itshall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act.
