  1. (1) This Act may be called the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949.
  2. (2) It extends to all urban areas in [Punjab], but nothing herein contained shall be deemed to affect the regulation of house accommodation in any Cantonment area.
  3. (3) It shall come into force atonce.
