Bare Act

The Punjab Temporary Taxation Act, 1962

Tax19626 sections

This law allows the Punjab state government to collect extra taxes temporarily to address specific fiscal needs. It overrides previous laws to add a twenty-five percent fee on the land revenue paid by farmers for two harvest seasons. Additionally, it imposes a one naya paisa surcharge on the sale of goods for one year, following the existing Punjab General Sales Tax rules. For professions, it changes the calculation method for the financial year 1962-63, taxing people based on their total annual gross income from amounts exceeding eighteen hundred rupees.
