The Punjab State Outsourced Personnel (Transition to Contractual Engagement) Act, 2026
The Punjab State Outsourced Personnel (Transition to Contractual Engagement) Act, 2026
This Act establishes a legal framework for transitioning eligible outsourced personnel, specifically those in Group-C and Group-D roles, into direct contractual engagement with the Government of Punjab. It applies to workers who have completed five years of continuous service, or three years for those in hazardous categories, provided they meet specific criteria regarding attendance, qualifications, and nature of work. By removing the middleman, the Act creates a direct master-servant relationship between the government and the worker. It mandates biometric attendance, performance-based renewals, and provides a structured grievance redressal mechanism, ensuring job security and standardized remuneration for these essential public service workers.
