1. (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Military Transport Act, 1916.
2. (2) It extends to [the principal territories].

The Punjab Military Transport Animals Act, 1903, is hereby repealed.

1. (1) All animals, vehicles and boats, together with gear and equipment for the same, shall be liable to be impressed for military transport, whether for service with or without the limits of India, in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
2. (2) Explanation. - 'Vehicles' shall be deemed to include also doolies, dandies, jjhampans and palkies.
3. (3) Impressment may be for hire or for purchase.
