The Punjab Law (Application) Act, 1966

1. This Act may be called the Punjab Laws (Application) Act, 1966.

2. In this Act. unlcss the context otherwise requires "Punjab" means the territories which, imrne-diately before the 1 st day of November, 1 966, were cornprisd in the State of Punjab.

3. (1) The Acts specified in the Schedule as amended up to the 31st Octokr, 1966, and all rules, orders and notifications made thereunder as amended up 10 that date, pertaining to the institutions, authorities and dignilaries of Punjab shall apply, and shall be deemed always to have applied, in regard to similar instituions, authorities and dignitaries of the State of Haryana.

If any difficulty arises in giving effect in the Stale of Haryana to the provisions of any Act mentioned in the Schedule; the State Government may, by order notified in the Official Gazette, make such provisions or give such directions, not being inconsistent wilh any of the provisions of any such Act, as may appear to it to be necessary For the removal of the difficulty.

5. (1 ) The Punjab Laws (Application) Ordinance, 1966, is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or my action taken under the said Ordinance or under any Act specified in the Schedule appended thereto shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act or under the corresponding Act specified in the Schedule appended to h i s Act. as the case may be, as if this Act had come into force on the IstdayofNovember,I966.
