Penalties for breach of rules
The Punjab Habitual Offenders (Control and Reform) Act, 1952(1) Any registered person who contravenes any rule, notice, direction or order made under this Act the breach of which is not otherwise provided for shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to—(a) on a first conviction, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to Rs. 200, or with both; and (b) on any subsequent conviction, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to Rs. 500, or with both. (2) Any person who commits any offence punishable by this section shall be liable to be arrested without warrant by any officer in charge of a police station or by any police officer not below the rank of a sub-inspector.
