Power to write off irrecoverable amount

The Board may write off any amount due to it, whether under a contract or otherwise, or any sum payable in connection therewith, if in its opinion such amount or sum is irrecoverable: Provided that the Board shall, before writing off any such amount or sum exceeding Rs. 3,000, obtain the sanction of the Government.
