The Orissa Grama Panchayat Samiti (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1981

(1) This Act may be called the Orissa Panchayat Samiti (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1981. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Orissa. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 10th day of February, 1981.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Orissa Panchayat Samiti Act, 1959, during the period between the date of commencement of this Act and the date on which the newly elected Chairmen of the Panchayat Samitis assume office, the powers and functions of the Panchayat Samitis shall be exercised and performed by the Subdivisional Officer having jurisdiction over the concerned Block.

(1) The Orissa Panchayat Samiti (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, 1981 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the provisions of this Act.
