Statutory text
When a sitting Member is killed in a terrorist act, the spouse or the dependent of the deceased Member or the next of his kin may be granted an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakhs by the State Government. When a sitting Member dies, the spouse or the dependent of the deceased member or the next of his kin may be granted an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakhs by the State Government.
