0. Preamble
The Nagaland Retirementfrom Public Employment Act, 2007. (ActNo. 1 of 2008).
Received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 13/01/2008and publishedinthe Nagaland Gazette Extraordinary dated:2Pdof September,2008.
To further amend the Nagaland Retirement fromPublic Employment Act, 1991.
It isherebyenactedinthefiftyeightyear ofthe Republic of Indiaasfollows:-
1. Shorttitle Extentand Commencement
- (1) ThisAct maybecalledtheNagalandRetirementFrom PublicEmployment (Amendment) Act, 2007.
- (2) It extendsto the whole ofthe StateofNagaland.
- (3) It shall deemedto have comeinto forcewith effect fiom 15*November 2007.
2. For section3oftheNagaland Retirementfiom PublicEmploymentAct, 1991 (here after referredto as thePrincipal Act).
Amendmentof Section3
Theexistingentry shallbe substitutedby the following
"Section3(1) :Not withstanding anything contained inany rule or orders for the time being in force, a personin public employment shallhold from the date ofthisjoining public employment until he attains the age of sixty years".
3. For section 3 of the principal Act, the following shall be substituted namely:
Retirement fromPublicEmployment
"3(2)AU personunderpublic employment shallretireon the afternoonofthe last dayof themonthinwhich he attainstheageofsixtyyears".
