Bare Act
The Nagaland (Requisition of Porters) Act, 1965
General19657 sections
This law allows officials in Nagaland to order able-bodied men to work as porters during emergencies like floods, famines, or violent riots when normal roads or trains are blocked. It applies only to places without road or rail access to help move essential goods, security forces, or government equipment. The government must legally pay fair wages for this work and cannot discriminate based on religion or class. If a person disobeys a legal requisition order for public safety or movement, they can face fines or prison time, replacing older regulations from the 1950s.
