The Mizoram Road Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2022

This Act amends the Mizoram Road Fund Act, 2007 to improve how road infrastructure is managed in the state. It changes the Mizoram Road Fund Board from a corporate body to an autonomous entity with a much larger and more diverse membership, including government officials, representatives from autonomous district councils, NGOs, and technical experts. The amendments also expand the Board's functions to include capacity building, convergence with other schemes, and road safety reviews. By restructuring the Board and its secretariat, the law aims to ensure better governance, maintenance, and construction of roads and bridges in Mizoram, making the system more inclusive and effective.
