Punishment for vexatious search, seizure or arrest

Punishment for vexatious search, seizure or arrest. Any officer or person exercising powers under this Act, who,

1. (1) maliciously enters or searched or causes to be entered or search any house, building, shop, tent, vessel, raft, vehicle, land or place or similar dwelling place or,
2. (2) vexatiously and unnecessarily seizes the property of any person in the pretence of seizing or searching for anything liable to confiscation under this Act or,
3. (3) vexatiously, unnecessarily detained, searches or arrests any person or,
4. (4) in any other way maliciously exceeds or abuses his lawful powers; on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.
