The Mizoram Board of School Education (Amendment) Act, 2012

This Act amends the Mizoram Board of School Education Act to update the board's authority over school curriculums. It specifically allows the board to prescribe courses for Secondary, Higher Secondary, and Professional or Vocational schools, including training programs. This change is necessary because the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has been designated as the academic authority for elementary education under the Right of Children to Free & Compulsory Education Act, 2009. By updating these rules, the state ensures that educational standards and training requirements are properly aligned with national laws and current needs.
