Preamble

AN ACT further to amend the Mizoram Board of School Education Act, 1975 (Act No. 2 of 1976) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act). Whereas it is expedient to amend the provisions of the Principal Act, relating to the pattern of Board Examination in the Elementary level, which has resulted due to changes in the Class structures and to do away with the Board Examinations at Class IV and VII in the Elementary level, with the implementation of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (Central Act No. 35 of 2009). Now, therefore, it is enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Mizoram in the Sixty Second Year of the Republic of India, as follows :
