This Act amends the Meghalaya Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Taxation Act. It adds section 3A, requiring every employer (other than an officer of a Government entity) who is liable to pay professional tax to obtain a certificate of registration, and every other person liable to pay the tax to enrol.
