Separation of premises for water supply

In any case in which a service line from the main line or distribution pipe supplies water to two or more premises, the prescribed authority may, by written notice require the owners of such premises to lay separate service pipe for the separate premises and the expenses thereof shall be borne by such owner in such proportion as may be determined by the prescribed authority.
