Definitions.

2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:-

(a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University;

(b) "Bar Council" means the Bar Council of Manipur constituted under the Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961);

(c) "Bar Council of India" means the Bar Council of India constituted under the Advocate Act, 1961 (25 of 1961);

(d) "Chancellor" means the Chancellor of the University;

(e) "Chief Justice" means the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur and includes the Judge performing the duties of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur;

(f) "Executive Council" means the Executive Council of the University;

(g) "Finance Committee" means the Finance Committee of the University;

(h) "Governing Council" means the Governing Council of the University:

(i) "Government" means the Government of Manipur;

(j) "Registrar" means the Registrar of the University;

(k) "Regulations" and "Statutes" means respectively the Regulations and Statutes of the University made under this Act;

(l) "University" means the National Law University, Manipur established under section 3 of this Act; and

(m) "Vice-Chancellor" means the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
