Be it enacted by_the Legislature of Manipur in the F ifty ninth Year of Republic of India as follows: , 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Panchayati Raj (F ifih Amendment) Act, 2008. In section 57 of the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act, 1994- (a) after the last sentence of sub-section (4), the following sentence shall be added, namely,- "In the first year of his term as Adhyaksha or Up-Adhyaksha, as the case may be, of Zilla Parishad, no motion of no-confidence shall be brought against him"; (b) in sub-section (5), for the words, "six months", the words "one year" shall be substituted.
