The Dhanamanjuri University (Amendment) Act, 2023

(1) This Act may be called the Dhanamanjuri University (Amendment) Act, 2023.

(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

In section 14 of the Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act),-

(i) in the second proviso to sub-section (2), for the words "of 3(three) years", the words "not exceeding 3(three) years" shall be substituted.

(ii) in sub-section (4), for the words "of five years", the words "not exceeding five years" shall be substituted.

(iii) in the proviso to sub-section (4), for the words "the Vice-Chancellor shall", the words "with the approval of the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor may" shall be substituted.

(iv) after sub-section (4), the following new sub-section (5) shall be inserted, namely,-

"(5) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Act and the Statutes, the Administrative Secretary in-charge of the Department of Higher & Technical Education shall be ex-officio Vice-Chancellor, if for any reason, the posts of the Vice-Chancellor and the Pro Vice-Chancellor remain vacant.".

In the Second Schedule to the Principal Act, proviso to para 2(iii) shall be deleted.
