Gazette, CH. NIMAT SINGH, Under Secretary (Law) to the Government of © Manipur. THE MANIPUR SECONDARY EDUCATION (SECOND AMENDMEN ACT, 1979 (Manipur Act No. 11 of 1979) AN . ACT further to amend the Manipur Secondary Education Act, 1972 (Manipur Act 7 of 1972). BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Manipur in the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows : 1 (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Secondary Education Tonics (Second Amendment) Act, 1979. comme: ce- ment ~~ 2) It extends to the whole of Manipur.

1. (3) Tt shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the Otficial Gazette appoint.

Education Act, 1972 (Manipur Act 7 of 1972). i 3. For Section 5of the Principal Act, the following shall be substi- Ameadsy k tuted, namely: ) of Section 5.

«5, (1) The Board shali consist of & full time Chairman, apppeirted under Sub-section (1) of Secnion 12 and the feilowing ex-ufficio members aud other nominated membersi-— ; (@) The ecoffizio members shall bz: i) The Director of Education of the Stats (in-charge of Secondary Education). (ify The Director of Industries, Manipur.

1. (iti) The Director of Agriculture, Manipur.
   • (iv) The Director of Medical, Health and Welfare Services, RN Maaipur.
   • (v) The Deans of the Faculties of Arts and Science, Gauhaii University.
   • (vi) Principal, Government Polytechnic, Imphal.
   • (vii) Principal, P.G.T. College.
   • (vii) Secretary Manipur State Kala Acadamy. —- (b) The other members who shall be nominated by the Government in the manner herein. provided, namely:
   • (i) Two Headmasters/Headmisfrasses of High Schools. (i Two Principals of Higher Secondary Schools. = (iii) One Principal of a College.
   • (iv) One nominee of the University to which the Colleges’ in the State ace affiliated. (v): Four nominees of the State Government from among Educationists,
   • (vi) Two teachers of High or Higher Secondary Schuois.
   • (vii) One represzntative of Manipur Sahitya Parishad. (¢) Notwithstanding anything contained in this- Section the : Board may Co-opt not more than three members from amongst distinguished educationists.
     • • (2) The Secretary shall be appointed by the S1ate Government who shall also be ex-officio member of the Board.” Amendment 4. The Section 12 of the Principal Act for Sub-sections (1) & (2) of Section 12. the following shall be substituted, namely: “(1) The following shail be the Officers of the Board, who shall be appointed by the State Government:
   • (i) The Chairman. } (ii) The Secretary. :
2. (iif) The Controller of Examinations.
   • (iv) The Officers.

(2) The terms and conditions of services, qualifications and mode of recruitment of the Chairman, Secretary, Controller of Examinations and other Officers shall be prescribed by the State Government by Rules.” ~ 5 ’rinted by the Supdt., Pty. & Sty., Manipur at the Govt.
