Imphal, the 9th February, 1973 No. 3/61/72-Act/L. ~The following Act of the Legislature of Manipur received assent of the Governor of Manipur on 6.2.73 is hercby published in the Manipur Gazette. THE MANIPUR LEGISLATURE (REMOVAL OF DISQUALIFICATIONS) ACT, 1972 (Manipur Act 2 of 1973) : : AN ACT to declare in accordance with the provisions contained in sub-clause

1. (a) of clause (1) of article 191 of the Constitution of India that the g holders of certain offices of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State specified in the First Schedule to the Constitution of India shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, members of the Manipur Legislative Assemby: It is hereby enacted by the Legislature of Manipur in the Twenty-third ’ Year of the Republic of India as follows :— I. (I) This Act may be called the Manipur Legislature (Removal Shart ttle of Disqualifications) Act, 1972. \ mencement. © (2) It shall come foto force at once.

It is hereby declared that a person shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly by reason only of the fact— that he holds any of the following offices of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State specified in the First Schedule to the Constitution of India, namely :— (a) an office of a Parliamentary Secretary or Vice Chairman of the State Planning Committee or the Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly ; (b) an office which is not a wholetime office remunerated either by salary or by fees.
