further to amend the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms
Act, 1960.
Be it enacted by theLegislature of Manipur in the TWenty—seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1 . (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Short title & Reforms (Second Amendment) Act, 1976. commencement
- (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette may appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act. ' ‘960 2. In this Act, “Principal Act”'means the Manipur Land Revenue Definition. and Land Reforms Act, 1960 as amended on 21 st January, 1972 by the / Manipur (Adoptation of Law) Order, 1972 and as further amended on the same date by Order No. 3/9/72—Act/li of the Governor of Manipur. Amendment of section 2 3. In section 2 of the Principal Act, after clause (i) the following clause shall be inserted as clause (ii) namely “(ii) ‘District Council’ means the ‘Council’ constituted under section 4 of the Manipur (Hill areas) District Councils Act, 1971 .”. 4. In section 4 of the Principal Act, after clause (b) the following clause shall be inserted as clause (hh), namely 76 01‘1971 Amendment of section 4. “(hh) Settlement Supervisor;” 5, In section 158 of the Principal Act, for clause (b), the following ’shall be substituted, namely Amendment of section 158. “(b) Where the transfer is to a person who is not a member of any such tribe, it is made with the previous permission in writing of the Deputy Commissioner, provided that the Deputy Commissioner shall not give such permission unless he has first secured the consent thereto ofthe District Council within Whose jurisdiction the land lies ; or” Reprinted at the Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Government of Manipur/SOO—C/3 0-01—201 5.
