The Maharashtra Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis (Amendment and Validation) Act, 1981

(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis (Amendment and Validation) Act, 1981. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th day of November 1980.

In section 10 of the Maharashtra Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), in sub-section (1), for clause (c), the following shall be substituted, namely:— (c) such number of persons who are elected by the direct election from the electoral divisions of the District as may be prescribed, but not exceeding 60 and not less than 40;

Notwithstanding anything contained in any judgment, decree or order of any court, but subject to the provisions of this Act, any thing done or any action taken (including any election held, or any notification issued or any delimitation or reservation of seats made) by the State Government or by any officer of the State Government or by any Zila Parishad or Panchayat Samiti or any authority under the principal Act, before the commencement of this Act, shall be, and shall deemed always to have been, validly done or taken and shall not be called in question in any court of law on the ground that the delimitation or reservation of seats or the election was not in accordance with the provisions of section 10 of the principal Act as it stood before the commencement of this Act.
