1. Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Hindu Succession (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 1994. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. Amendment of section 23 of Central Act 30 of 1956

Statutory text

In the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, in its application to the State of Maharashtra (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), section 23 shall be deleted.

3. Amendment of section 24 of Central Act 30 of 1956

Statutory text

In the principal Act, section 24 shall be deleted.
