Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Gujarat Electricity (Special Powers) Act, 1946. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Gujarat. (3) It shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1946 in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay; and in that part of the State of Bombay to which it is extended by the Bombay Electricity (Special Powers) (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1958, it shall come into force on such other date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
