Statutory text
(1) In any area other than Greater Bombay under the charge of a Commissioner the Commissioner shall, from time to time, appoint such places as he thinks fit to be public pounds, and may appoint to be keepers of such pounds Police officers of such rank as may be approved by the State Government. (2) Every pound-keeper so appointed shall, in the performance of his duties, be subject to the direction and control of the Commissioner.
