Cognizance of offences

Statutory text
- (a) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act, except with the previous sanction of the Commissioner.
- (b) No court inferior to that of a Metropolitan Magistrate or a Magistrate of the First Class shall try any offence punishable under this Act.
- (c) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, an offence punishable under this Act shall be cognizable and bailable.
