The Bombay Disqualification of Municipal Councillors (Removal of Doubts) Act, 1958
1. Short title and extent
(1) This Act may be called the Bombay Disqualification of Municipal Councillors (Removal of Doubts) Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Bombay.
2. Removal of doubts regarding disqualification of councillors
For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that a person shall not be deemed to have been disqualified for being chosen as, or for being, a councillor of any municipal corporation or municipality constituted under any law for the time being in force in the State of Bombay, by reason only of the fact that he holds the office of a member of the Committee (by whatever name called) appointed by the State Government or by any officer or authority subordinate to the State Government, for the purpose of advising the Government or such officer or authority on any matter of public importance, or for the purpose of performing any advisory function, or by reason of the fact that he receives any fee, honorarium, travelling allowance or other allowance for attending the meetings of such committee or for performing any function as such member.
