1. Short title and extent

This Act may be called the Bombay Abolition of Whipping Act, 1957. It extends to the whole of the State of Bombay.
2. Abolition of punishment of whipping
Statutory text
Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, the punishment of whipping shall be abolished.
3. Repeal
Statutory text
The Whipping Act, 1909, in its application to the State of Bombay, is hereby repealed.
