1. Short title and commencement.

(1) This Act may be called the Agriculturists Loans (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 1965. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. Amendment of section 4 of Act XII of 1884.

In section 4 of the Agriculturists Loans Act, 1884, in its application to the State of Maharashtra (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), in sub-section (1), for the word "loans" wherever it occurs, the words "loans and advances" shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of section 5 of Act XII of 1884.

In section 5 of the principal Act, for the word "loans", the words "loans and advances" shall be substituted.
