Symbiosis Skills and Open University Act, 2017
Symbiosis Skills and Open University Act, 2017
This Act establishes and regulates the Symbiosis Skills and Professional University as a self-financed private institution in Maharashtra. It mandates that the university operates without government financial aid, relying instead on its own funds and fees. The law defines the university's governance structure, including the roles of the President, Vice-Chancellor, and various administrative bodies. It sets strict rules for student admissions, fee structures, and examination schedules to ensure transparency and meritocracy. Furthermore, it empowers the State Government to oversee the university's operations, inspect its standards, and intervene in cases of financial mismanagement or administrative failure to protect student interests.
