Chapter I PRELIMINARY
Statutory text
- (1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra State Commission for Safai Karmacharis Act, 1997.
- (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.
- (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
- (4) The term of the Commission shall be for a period of five years: Provided that the State Government may, reduce the said term or extend the term of the Commission as deemed proper.
