The Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management (Amendment) Act, 2006

(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management (Amendment) Act, 2006. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 10th May 2006.

In section 2 of the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management Act, 2005 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:— (a) "assessment year" means the financial year, starting from 1st April 2006, in respect of which the targets are indicated in the fiscal framework;

In section 5 of the principal Act, for clause (a) of sub-section (1), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:— (a) reduce the revenue deficit to zero by the 31st March 2009;
