Bare Act
Maharashtra The Bombay Town Planning Schemes Bombay City Nos Ii Iii And Iv Mahim Area Validation Act 1956
The Bombay Town Planning Schemes (Bombay City Nos. II, III and IV (Mahim Area)) Validation Act, 1956 is a corrective legislative measure enacted to validate past urban planning actions in the Mahim area of Bombay. Due to a statutory ambiguity in extending the parent Bombay Town Planning Act of 1915 to Bombay City, municipal decisions, draft schemes, property sanctions, and arbitration awards made for Mahim Town Planning Schemes Nos. II, III, and IV faced legal uncertainty. This Act retrospectively extends the parent law to Bombay City, legitimizes all past actions taken by municipal and state authorities, permits completion of ongoing schemes, and bars courts from entertaining lawsuits challenging these schemes on technical extension grounds.
