Bare Act
The M.P. State Security Act, 1990
The Madhya Pradesh State Security Act, 1990 empowers state authorities and District Magistrates to maintain public order and security throughout Madhya Pradesh. It regulates anti-social elements, repeat offenders, and disruptive groups by restricting their movements, ordering their externment from specific areas, or limiting their associations. The law also enables authorities to restrict military-style drills, unauthorized uniforms, and access to protected locations, while allowing collective fines on communities assisting criminals. By providing robust preventive powers against violence and public disturbance, this law aims to ensure public safety, protect essential infrastructure, and maintain law and order across the state.
