1. Short title and extent

This Act may be called the Madhya Pradesh Indian Contract (Amendment) Act, 1938 and it extends to the whole of the Madhya Pradesh.
2. Amendment of section 21, Indian Contract Act, 1872
Statutory text
In section 21 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, for the words "a mistake of law shall not make a contract voidable", the words "a contract is not voidable because it was caused by a mistake as to any law in force in British India; but a mistake as to a law not in force in British India has the same effect as a mistake of fact" shall be substituted.
