Provided that the total percentage of reservation shall in no case exceed 85%, excluding reservation for Economically Weaker Sections:.

Amendment of section 5 In the principal Act, in section 5,—

1. (a) in sub-section (1), the second proviso shall be omitted;
2. (b) after sub-section (4), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:—

1. (5) Nothing contained in this section shall apply to Economically Weaker Sections and filling up of vacancies for such Sections shall be in such manner as may be prescribed.”.
