This Regulation amends the existing Shops and Establishments Act applicable to the Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It modifies employment conditions by increasing the threshold for worker coverage from ten to twenty employees. It extends daily working hours from nine to ten and sets a maximum daily limit of twelve hours. The law permits women to work night shifts between 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. provided they consent and employers ensure safety. It also updates overtime limits and clarifies the definition of the State Government as the Administrator.
