The Kerala Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Amendment Act, 1960
Corporate19602 sections
This amendment to an existing law adds a new section that gives the Kerala Government the authority to exempt certain people, commodities, trades, or measuring equipment from requirements if they are not used for commercial purposes. The exemptions can be issued through government notifications with appropriate conditions and restrictions. The power is meant to be used in the public interest, allowing flexibility when standard enforcement measures would be problematic. The amendment received immediate effectiveness upon enactment.
