The Kerala State Aid to Industries Act, 1963
The Kerala State Aid to Industries Act, 1963
This law provides a legal framework for the Kerala government to offer financial and material assistance to promote industrial growth across the state. It applies to individuals, businesses, companies, cottage industries, village enterprises, and small-scale ventures operating in Kerala. Aid can be granted through direct loans, bank credit guarantees, share purchases, subsidized land and raw materials, or machinery supplied on hire-purchase. A dedicated State Aid to Industries Board evaluates applications to guide government decisions. This law matters because it boosts economic development, encourages new business enterprises, generates local employment, and strengthens small or struggling industries through structured financial support.
