The High Court Services (Determination of Retirement age

The Kerala High Court Services (Determination of Retirement Age) Act, 2008 sets the mandatory retirement age for officers and staff employed at the High Court of Kerala. Under this law, court employees must retire on the final afternoon of the month in which they reach fifty-five years of age. This law brings the retirement age of judicial administrative staff in line with other Kerala state government employees, creating uniformity across public service departments. Additionally, it addresses transitional issues by allowing staff who served past fifty-five prior to October 2007 to keep their earned salaries without granting extra retirement or pension benefits.
