Appointment of Conciliation Officers

The Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint for any area specified therein any officer of the Labour Department not below the rank of Deputy Labour Officer to be a Conciliation Officer for the purpose of performing the functions entrusted to the Conciliation Officer by or under this Act. In section 18 of the principal Act, after sub-section (8), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: "(9) In the exercise of the powers and the discharge of its functions the Committee shall be bound by such directions as the Board may give to it from time to time." InSection 13 of the principalAct, after clause (Vl ci sub.section (2), the fotowing c)ause shall be inserted, namety:— bb) forproviding benef,ts under the srtiployees'State InsuranceAct, 1948(CentratAct 34 of 1948) to headloadworicers'.
