This At amends the Kerala Temporary Stay of Eviction Proceedings Act, 2007 to extend the maximum duration a temporary stay on eviction can last in court from two years to four years (Section 2). Passed in 2009 but deemed effective from July 2008, it provides residents and tenants facing possession disputes more breathing room to resolve their cases without the immediate threat of physical displacement or asset loss.
