Power to summon witnesses, etc.

Any officer exercising any power or performing any

function under this Act shall for the purposes of this Act have all the powers of a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, in respect of the following matters, namely:-

1. (a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;
2. (b) receiving evidence on affidavit;
3. (c) any other matter which may be prescribed.
