The Kerala Municipal Councils (Extension of Term of Office of Councillors) Act, 1979

(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Municipal Councils (Extension of Term of Office of Councillors) Act, 1979. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 31 st day of October, 1978.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Kerala Municipalities Act, 1960 (14 of 1961), the term of office of the councillors of all the municipalities constituted under the said Act, other than the Changanacherry and Tirur Municipalities, which expires on the 1 st day of November, 1978, shall extend upto noon on the 1 st day of October, 1979.

(1) The Kerala Municipal Councils (Extension of Term of Office of Councillors) Ordinance, 1978 (21 of 1978), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act.
