Statutory text
Every presiding or polling officer or other person in attendance at the polling room who, except for some purpose authorised by law, communicates to any person any information indicating directly or indirectly for which candidate any voter has voted and every person who by any improper means procures any such information, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
