Bare Act

The Mysore State Legislature Proceedings (Protection of Publication) Act, 1968

General19684 sections

This Act protects the publication of substantially true reports from the Mysore State Legislature in newspapers and broadcasts. It shields journalists and broadcasters from civil or criminal court proceedings unless the publication is proven to be malicious or not in the public interest. The law applies to the entire state of Mysore and covers both printed newspapers and wireless broadcasts of legislative proceedings. By doing so, it ensures that the public can access information about government activities without fear of legal retaliation, provided the reporting remains accurate and serves the public good.
